Contribution Highlights
- Planned Giving efforts resulted in a realized gift of $475,000.
- Completion of the campaign to build an observatory on campus
without any state funding was finalized with an $800,000 gift
from the Murillo family. This funding supports the $2.9 million
observatory, which will be a state-of-the-art teaching center that
will provide access for both day and night viewing and will
create much-needed opportunities for science education and
hands-on learning experiences. The Murillo family gift resulted
in the naming of the astronomical observatory as the Murillo
Family Observatory.
- A gift in kind valued at $316,900 was made to the R. V. Fullerton
Museum, which will help the museum continue to grow as one
of the major cultural centers in the community and surrounding
Inland Empire region. Notably, the museum is home to what is
considered the largest collection of Ancient Egyptian Art west of
the Mississippi River.
- The nursing program continues to receive substantial support
and continues to evolve toward improved collaboration and
innovation in nursing education, scholarship, practice and
service. This year, the program secured a gift of $419,603 from
a local hospital.
- A $158,540 grant was awarded to the Palm Desert campus
to support the nursing program, and a $250,000 grant was
received for Phase III of the new campus.
- The total number of gifts increased by 844.
