Individuals
Gift receipts from individuals increased
to $135 million compared to
$112 million in 2006-2007. Gifts
from individuals include giving from
alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students
and friends of the university.
The number of donors is a key
indicator of success in attracting
private support to the university.
The number of individuals giving
to the CSU grew by almost 2,000
supporters in 2007-2008, reaching
a total of 221,410 individual donors
compared to 219,421 in 2006-2007.

Alumni
In 2007-2008, alumni members
contributed $48 million, representing
36 percent of giving from individuals.
The average gift from an alumni donor
was $691.
Alumni membership for 2007-2008
reached 164,863 members. In
addition to contributing nearly
$2 million in membership dues, these
members contributed $22,494,736,
representing 46 percent of all alumni
gifts to the university.
