Contribution Highlights:
- The Richard and Rhoda Goldman Fund granted $3.7 million to create an endowed chair in Israel Studies and to support the transformation of the Jewish Studies Program to a full academic department. This is the largest endowed chair gift ever received in the California State University system.
- Dr. Phillip Stanley and Mr. George Perko are leaving a $2 million testamentary gift to create the Perko-Stanley
Visiting Chair in Archaeology.
- The Ford Foundation pledged $1.5 million over two years for core operations of the National Sexuality Resource Center. The Center gathers and disseminates information and research on sexual health, education and rights, serving as a point of outreach to academics, researchers, policy makers and diverse communities.
- The university received a $1 million irrevocable bequest from the Estate of Raoul Bertrand in support of the Department of Classics and Classical Archaeology for the establishment of the Bertrand Endowment Fund for Classical Studies, which will finance scholarships and fellowships.
