Contribution Highlights:
- An anonymous donor contributed $5 million for scholarships and student assistance. The gift will help meet the demand for student financial support, which increased by 160 percent during the past year.
- Attorney and philanthropist Philip S. Magaram, Hon.D. ('03), made a bequest of $3 million in support of the Marilyn Magaram Center for Food Science, Nutrition & Dietetics. Magaram serves as chair of the CSUN Foundation Board.
- Work began on the 1,700-seat,
$125 million Performing Arts Center, with construction expected to be completed by 2010. The new center will serve as a cultural and economic landmark for the San Fernando Valley. The center received a $2.5 million commitment from the County of Los Angeles and a $1 million pledge from David Fleming, vice chair of the Imagine the Arts Campaign Steering Committee.
