Contribution Highlights:
- The Nursing Program received over half a million dollars from the
California Endowment to partner with community organizations
and schools to encourage students from diverse backgrounds to
pursue careers in nursing.
- The Bernard Osher Foundation endowed the Osher Lifelong
Learning Institute (OLLI) with $1 million. OLLI provides a
distinctive array of noncredit
courses and activities specifically
developed for adults age 50 or older who pursue education
simply for the joy of learning.
- Four hundred guests attended the President%u2019s Dinner, raising
$130,000 in unrestricted funds for the university%u2019s highest
priority needs.
- A $200,000 National Science Foundation grant will support a
weeklong
workshop utilizing molecular structure determination
instrumentation via the Intranet as a costeffective
approach to
providing outstanding science, technology, engineering and
mathematics (STEM) education. The project facility was created
with funding from the Amgen Foundation.
