Contribution Highlights:
- Donors gifted three yachts valued at approximately $450,000, including a 48foot
racing yacht that helped students skillfully compete in highprofile
races across the state. Another yacht was immediately placed in service as a training work boat for cadets.
- The annual gala event had almost 300 people in attendance, netting $120,000.Though the largest portion of these funds is directed to scholarships, some is directed to faculty development, increasing connections between the faculty and Advancement.
- The Alumni Association became part of the California Maritime Academy Foundation, uniting the interests of both groups. As a result, attendance at class reunions has increased along with enthusiasm among alumni. Over 500 alumni celebrated Homecoming with a day of festivities and an evening dinner dance.
