Contribution Highlights:
- The Department of Nursing and four local hospitals partnered to
start a new fivequarter,
Accelerated Bachelor of Science Nursing
program for students who have already completed a bachelor's
degree in another subject. The hospitals committed $1.1 million
to fund the first cohort of 44 future nurses.
- Local donors committed $700,000 to equip the New Science III
building with stateoftheart
technology. The university
leveraged this support with vendors to acquire $1 million
in new equipment.
- Dr. Homer and Mrs. Evangeline Myles, a retired dentist and nurse,
made a major addition to their endowment to bring the fund to
$500,000. This endowment supports graduate students who come
from disadvantaged backgrounds.
- The School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics Pipeline to High
Tech Professions program received a $400,000 grant from the
National Science Foundation.The grant will fund 40 scholarships
annually over the next four years for students studying science,
technology, engineering and mathematics.
