Contribution Highlights:
- Leonard Lavin, founder and chairman of Alberto-Culver, contributed $2
million to the Entrepreneurial Management Center to provide seed money for
students starting businesses and student enrichment opportunities.
- The School of Nursing received a $1 million gift to name the Sharp
HealthCare Human Patient Simulation Center. The state-of-the-art facility
will be equipped with seven simulators.
- Three prominent alumni—Jack Goodall, Robert Payne and Leon Parma—made
a joint $2.7 million gift to name the Alumni Center. Their support will
enable building construction to commence in early 2008.
- The Fred J. Hansen Foundation pledged $1.5 million to establish the
Hansen Foundation Summer Institute on Leadership and International Cooperation.
