- An endowed chair in redwood ecology was named for distinguished alumnus Kenneth
L. Fisher in recognition of a $3.6 million endowment gift.
- Record number of alumni—3,581—contributed to the university, an 81 percent
improvement over last year.
- The Redwood Science Project received a four-year $550,000 federal grant to help
alleviate the statewide shortage of secondary science teachers.
