4060  SYSTEMIWDE POLICIES

Systemwide policies and certain administrative procedures emanate from the 
Office of the Chancellor; however, the operational programs and the 
implementation of policies are administered locally.  The lines of authority 
flow from the Presidents through various administrators to the Directors of 
Public Safety.  Directors of Public Safety may be reporting to Administrative 
Vice Presidents, Directors of Business, Executive Deans, or Deans of Students.  
Administrative direction, therefore, may come from managers who have no 
sworn authority, while law-enforcement direction is the responsibility of 
Directors of Public Safety.
