2804.01  FEDERAL PROGRAMS

After award letters have been received, the institution will subsequently 
request funds through the United States Department of Education Payment 
Management System (ED/PMS).  The funds are requested by telephone from 
the central service bureau, National Computer Systems (NCS), who in turn 
will notify ED/PMS of the request.  ED/PMS will then process the request and 
electronically arrange to deposit funds directly into the campus' bank account.

Transfer, December, 1986.

SUAM Appendix BA 2991-ABS contains the accounting entries associated 
with the various steps required to account for the individual program trust 
funds.
