Parking Revenue Fund-Construction (583.303)

Effective immediately, new construction of campus parking facilities projects should be accounted in the new CSU Parking Revenue Fund-Construction (583.303).

Prior to fiscal year 1995/96, construction of parking facilities was accounted in the CSU Chancellor's Office (C.O.), Dormitory Construction Fund-Parking (576.222). Construction projects started prior to 1995/96 and not yet finished will be accounted in Fund 576.222 by the C.O. until the construction projects are completed. All other parking construction activity should be moved to this new CSU fund.

Parking Revenue Fund-Maintenance and Equipment (583.304)

Effective immediately, maintenance, repair and equipment of existing and future parking facilities should be accounted in the new CSU Parking Revenue Fund-Maintenance and Equipment (583.304).

Prior to fiscal year 1996/97, maintenance, repairs and equipment expenditures were accounted in the Dormitory Building Maintenance and Equipment Reserve Fund-Parking (575.202). Campuses will be allowed to use all remaining prior year allocation order balances in the Dormitory Building Maintenance and Equipment Reserve Fund-Parking (575.202). All other parking maintenance, repairs and equipment expenditures should be moved to this new CSU fund.

Notes to Parking Revenue Fund

Parking fee revenue will be the primary source of funds used to finance the construction, maintenance, repair and equipment of campus parking facilities. This revenue will be transferred from the CSU Parking Revenue Fund-Parking Fees (583.302) to CSU Funds 583.303 and 583.304 as needed.

Fines and forfeitures collections, Fund 583.301, is restricted by law (Education Code Section 89701.5) from being used for construction, maintenance, repair and equipment of campus parking facilities. Thus, there will be no transfers of funds from CSU Fund 583.301 to Funds 583.303 and 583.304.

Systemwide Pre -Edit Table

To facilitate the aforementioned change, the systemwide edit tables have been modified. Campuses are to execute the edit table tieline updates before using the following accounts.
