Subject: Fund 498 Higher Education Fees and Income - Revenue
Collections Applicable to
Reverted General Fund Appropriations
Effective July 1, 1994, the 1991/92 appropriation reverted. Fund 498 revenue collections applicable to reverted General Fund appropriations will be remitted to Fund 498 as current year revenue. Campuses will continue to prepare a PFA requesting transfer of revenue collections from Fund 498 - Higher Education Fees and Income to Fund 001 - General Fund Support. Revenue collections are available for current year General Fund Support expenditures. The 1994/95 Budget Act, Chapter 0139, Item 6610-001-498, Provision 1 states, "All funds received in the Higher Education Fees and Income, CSU Fund, which are in excess of the amount appropriated in this item are hereby appropriated in augmentation of this item". To facilitate the recording of assets and liabilities for revenue collections from applicable General Fund reverted appropriations (1991/92), the following global accounts were established in Fund 498: Description Global Campus Range General Ledger 0-10515 0-10531 to 0-10699 Subsidiary Ledger 1-00515 1-00531 to 1-00699 Campuses are to transfer any 1991/92 balances recorded in other general ledger accounts (i.e. 0-10004) to the above general ledger account. To reconcile with the SCO, revenue collections should be recorded using the new sub-ledger account. The new globals will be added to the pre edit table on April 10, 1995 under level/version 84. Execute the edit table tieline and AM400 attribute updates before creating the new accounts. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Fyle Cabagnot at (310) 985-2889.
