Student Affairs Council
The 23 CSU campus vice presidents for student affairs (VPSA) collectively comprise the core membership for the Student Affairs Council. The council is co-chaired by two vice presidents, Ms. Stacey Morgan-Foster and Dr. Cornel Morton, who work closely with a steering committee of past and future council chairs, along with Chancellor's Office colleagues including Allison Jones, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Academic Support. The council is staffed by Ray Murillo, Associate Director of Student Programs for the CSU.
Student Affairs Council Information
About the Student Affairs Council The Student Affairs Council discusses contemporary issue, trends, and best practices related to the services and programs that contribute to student success and the quality of campus life. The Council also provides advice on systemwide policies, initiatives, and strategic planning. Working in collaboration with the Academic Council (provosts and vice president for academic affairs), the Student Affairs Council members forge partnerships in support of student learning, development, and academic achievement. Current standing committees address such areas as student information technology, admission and enrollment management, disability services, alcohol and other drug policies, auxiliary organization, financial aid, Greek affairs, health and counseling services, and on-campus student housing.
Under the guidance of the members of the Student Affairs Council, the CSU division of student affairs cultivate academic and personal success, encourage and promote the welfare of all students, and capitalize on a diverse student population to develop students' leadership skills, collegiality, civic responsibility, and engaged citizenship in an increasingly diverse democratic society.
