Transfer Students

All of the CSU campuses welcome applications from transfer students. A transfer student is a student who completes any college level units after graduation from high school (excluding the summer session immediately following high school graduation). The number of college level units a student has completed at the time of enrollment at a CSU determines the admission standards that apply to the application.

Students who have at least 60 semester or 90 quarter transferable units completed by the time of enrollment to a CSU, are considered upper-division transfer students.

Students who have completed 59 or fewer transferable semester units, or 89 or fewer transferable quarter units, by the time of enrollment at a CSU, are considered lower-division transfer students. Please note: Due to enrollment demands, most CSU campuses restrict or prohibit the admission of lower-division transfer students who have earned fewer than 60 transferable semester units (90 quarter units). Please check with the campus before submitting an application.
