Systemwide Risk Management

Training

Professional Development and Training for campus risk management, safety, workers compensation, and emergency response staff is encouraged and supported by the Systemwide Risk Management Office. Training includes Fitting the Pieces Together, an annual 2 day conference held in November, which is attended by a broad range of representatives from Risk Management, Environmental Health and Safety, Public Safety, Academic Affairs, Office of General Counsel, Business and Finance, Human Resources and Capital Planning, Design and Construction. Training is also offered through various committees and affinity groups.

Other training opportunities are provided through participation in the Public Agency Risk Managers Association (PARMA), the Public Risk Management Association (PRIMA), University Risk Management and Insurance Association (URMIA) and other professional organizations. Educational programs are available through the Insurance Educational Association (IEA) and The American Institute for CPCU and Insurance Institute of America (AICPCU), which offer professional certifications in the field of Risk Management.
