NACUBO Offering Grants for Colleges to Implement Baldrige Based

The
QI Program staff administered 93 surveys during our 2009 Customer Satisfaction
Survey Administration process. Individual campus survey reports have been
completed and distributed and the systemwide survey comparison reports are
nearly complete and will be distributed this month.
The 2009 reports were enhanced over previous years’ reports by adding new charts and expanding the reports. We took considerable effort this year to collect more detailed information about how campuses had selected their samples and administered their surveys. We plan to use the additional information gathered to identify recommended practices for future surveys. A
webcast was conducted on September 30 to help our survey owners and sponsors
better understand how to interpret survey results and how to use the reports
to identify opportunities and select priorities for improvement. This webcast
was recorded and can be viewed at: https://www.calstate.edu/qi/training/Interpret_Survey_Reports.jar
With staffing limitations throughout the CSU as a result of furloughs and hiring freezes, we are encouraging campuses to consider deferring administration of surveys in 2010. This will give campus survey owners time to analyze 2009 (and earlier) results in an effort to identify, prioritize, and enact improvement opportunities. During this time period the QI Program will be working to improve the survey administration process by identifying improved survey and reporting software, and beginning the process of reviewing and improving the existing surveys.

NACUBO Offering Grants
for Colleges to Implement Baldrige Based EHE Assessment Process |
||||||||
|
The National Association of College and University
Business Officers (NACUBO) is offering grants for a limited number of higher
education institutions to receive training in the Excellence in Higher
Education (EHE) integrated model for assessment, planning and
improvement. The QI Program is seeking
campuses interested in applying for the grant as part of a Systemwide
effort. The goal is to identify three
CSU College of Business faculty members that have experience in consulting in
quality and performance improvement who would receive the training and
conduct assessments on their respective campuses. These faculty members would also study the
CSU’s previous efforts to implement EHE and prepare recommendations for future
CSU use of EHE.
The grant application is due October 30th , so if you believe your campus is a candidate for the grant please contact Ken DeVane at kdevane@calstate.edu. View a 35 minute webinar describing the NACUBO Grant: https://www.calstate.edu/qi/training/NACUBO_EHE_Grant.jar For more information on the EHE model, view an EHE
overview presentation narrated by Dr. Brent Ruben of Rutgers University: http://calstate.edu/qi/ehe/player.html
