CSU Quality Improvement

EHE - Excellence in Higher Education

Supported Approach

Campuses that wish to have additional support in adopting EHE can take advantage of the following 4 step approach.

1 – Select at least two individuals that will act as local campus EHE facilitators.   These should be individuals who either have or are willing to gain knowledge of and experience with Baldrige concepts and criteria, have some familiarity with accrediting language and standards, and  possess a moderate-to-high degree of facilitation expertise.

2 – Potential campus facilitators attend the EHE 2-day Overview course. This course gives participants a chance to learn about and apply the EHE model to a fictional case study.  (Note that the EHE Overview course is also designed for general audiences interested in using the EHE model, not just potential facilitators.)

3 – Potential EHE facilitators spend additional time as-required to become familiar with EHE, the Baldrige model, and presentation or group facilitation skills.  This may include observing an EHE overview or assessment session, or attending special sessions with other potential EHE facilitators.  We are currently doing preliminary planning of a practice session for potential facilitators.  Click here if you would like to become or know more about becoming an EHE facilitator.

4 – Assist Dr. Ruben in an assessment at your own campus.  The individual campus would contract directly with Dr. Ruben to conduct as assessment of a department, division, college or other organizational group.  The local facilitators would co-present with Dr. Ruben and receive feedback and mentoring from him during this process.  Campuses are encouraged to invite a limited number of potential facilitators from other CSU campuses to attend as a training experience.
