CSU Appoints Dr. Benjamin F. Quillian as Vice Chancellor
Administration and Finance

(September 18, 2008) – Dr. Benjamin F. Quillian, Jr. has been named Vice Chancellor, Administration and Finance, for the California State University, effective Sept. 15. Quillian was most recently senior vice president for business and operations at the American Council on Education in Washington, D.C., a position he has held since 2003. 

Quillian served as vice president for administration and chief financial officer at CSU Fresno for ten years. He also served in several administrative posts over a 15 year period at the University of Southern Illinois at Edwardsville. Quillian has been involved in institutional finances, accounting, audit, energy management, information technology, real estate transactions, public safety, athletics, and university auxiliaries. While at Fresno, he had lead roles in developing public – private partnerships, corporate sponsorships, and community relations.

The appointment of Quillian follows the recent announcement of the retirement of CSU Executive Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer Richard P. West at the end of the year.
