California State University Media Arts Festival Connects Students with Television, Film and Animation Industry Leaders

Seminars, Workshops, Public Screenings, and an Awards Ceremony Highlight the 18th Annual CSU Media Arts Festival

WHAT:  California State University (CSU) students in film, video, and interactive media are encouraged to participate in the CSU Media Arts Festival (MAF) which creates a unique learning environment with industry professionals through seminars, critical review of their work, public screenings, and professional networking.  MAF operates out of the CSU Chancellor’s Office and is under the umbrella of CSU Summer Arts.

Cash awards are given for “Best of Show”, winners in each of the nine categories, and to the CSU campus department of each winning entrant.  The categories for entry are:  Narrative, Animation, Music Video, Experimental, Documentary, Television, Interactive Media, Short Screenplay, and Feature Screenplay.

Saturday, Nov. 8, Seminars from 9:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Award Ceremony 7:00-9:00 p.m.

• Acting & Directing with Gregg Daniel from The Actor’s Studio
• Working with Actors with Mary Lou Belli (Girlfriends, One on One)
• Jobs in Television Production with Marilyn Loncar (7th Heaven, The Cosby Show)
• Music Video Directing with Thomas Mignone (Slipknot, Sepultura, On the Doll)
