Patrick Lenz Receives CSU Appointment(June 7, 2002) Patrick J. Lenz, currently the Executive Vice Chancellor for the California Community Colleges headquarters in Sacramento, has been named Assistant Vice Chancellor, Budget Development in the California State University's Office of the Chancellor.
In his new position, Lenz will take over the duties of the previous Director of Budget Development as well as assume expanded responsibilities. At the CSU headquarters in Long Beach, he will supervise professional staff, provide internal budget advice, develop both long and short-range financial plans, and prepare comprehensive plans promoting the annual Trustees Support Budget request and special funding requests. In Sacramento, he will serve as principal liaison on budget matters for the CSU to the Department of Finance, the Legislative Analyst's Office, and various legislative committees.
Lenz had earlier served as a consultant to the Senate Finance Committee, the Subcommittee on Education, and the Budget and Fiscal Review Committee. He holds a bachelor's degree from San Jose State University. Lenz will begin his duties on August 12, and is currently expected to split his time between Sacramento and Long Beach.
