SJ State Students Hope To Add CSU To Name

CBS-5, 3/13/07

Some students at San Jose State University believe their campus lacks prestige—and they think that adding the letters CSU to the university name can help.

To that end they've put an initiative on a student ballot to change the name.

Students at San Jose State will vote March 20th and March 21st to add California State University to the campus name.

If it passes, the students will take the issue to the CSU Board of Trustees.

But here's the twist. If approved, CSU San Jose would not displace San Jose State—both would be used by the university.
