CSU Teachers May Strike Over Pres. Pay Raise

CBS-13 Sacramento 1/26/07

Over 100 teachers came out to protest a pay raise awarded to Sacramento State University President Alex Gonzalez. He and 22 other Cal State presidents received a 4 percent raise from the Board of Trustees.

Gonzalez's presidential salary will now increase from $255,000 to $265,000.

Meanwhile, teachers are in deadlock in their own negotiations with the Board of Trustees over a pay raise and are planning to strike.

Teachers at all 23 Cal State campuses will vote in February on whether to strike.
