Cal Poly Pomona professors protest

About 40 Cal Poly Pomona professors took up pickets early Wednesday to protest prolonged contract talks with California State University executives. The protest could become a preview of a future strike if a non-binding fact-finding process this month fails to resolve the two-year impasse.

History professor John Lloyd, a member of the statewide bargaining team and one of the organizers of the Cal Poly protest, said there are many points of contention among the professors.

They say the CSU system has misplaced priorities and is trying to link salary increases to student tuition hikes, which professors opposed.
