CSUMB exchange student missing; officials concerned
Monterey Herald 2/19/07
Marie-Julie Brissette, known to colleagues as "MJ," is a 24-year-old Canadian exchange student at the university.
Brissette was last seen about 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the campus gymnasium, university spokeswoman Joan Weiner said.
The missing woman's roommates contacted authorities Sunday, because they said the length of her absence was unusual.
Brissette arrived at the school this semester from Quebec, Weiner said. "University officials have been in touch with her family," she said.
Weiner said Sunday there was no reason to suspect foul play, but said officials are concerned.
Local police departments have begun a search for Brissette, and anyone who has seen her or has information is asked to call the CSU Monterey Bay Police Department at 655-0268.
