Orange County Register 5-18-04 UCI protesters reprimanded |
|
A UCI student said he and about 15 others who participated in a protest against the closure of a campus trailer park have been judged "guilty" in a campus judicial hearing. Student Matthew Cardinale said he will protest the disciplinary warning placed in his student file. UCI officials did not return phone calls seeking comment. In March, nine students were arrested for blocking a soil-testing crew making preparations for construction to begin on a parking lot slated to replace the trailer park after it closes in July. The campus subsequently charged 18 students with violating UCI policy
by disrupting university activities during the protest. |
