Cal Poly students have raised $22,000 to send 280 wheelchairs to Thailand this summer.

For the third consecutive year, the university's chapter of the Wheelchair Foundation has held a series of fund-raisers to buy wheelchairs for people who need them around the world. Proceeds from the events go directly to the Wheelchair Foundation, which matches the amount raised and purchases the chairs.

Business and Liberal Arts students developed marketing plans and solicited donations from numerous community groups. The group has raised more than $65,000 in the past three years.
