Good morning, CSU Stanislaus It was not thrilling to see CSU Stanislaus featured on ABC's Good Morning America. Diane Sawyer's observations and comments with reference to cheating students in the midst of the justice system are not a source of local pride. The fact this lousy situation exists vividly illustrates an unprecedented lack of direction at all levels, both at Stanislaus State and in the justice system in Stanislaus County. The use of dubiously qualified students to conduct a serious survey upon which a high-impact judicial procedural decision will be based is outrageous. To make the survey a part of each student's grade is way over the top. The obvious total lack of supervision is unconscionable. The majority of responsibility lies at the highest level at Stanislaus State, and likely the entire CSU system. There is the total lack of academic integrity. Maybe a basketful of multicultural festivals, some good sports programs, a stable of nationally prominent speakers, but all of it worthless. The cheaters should be expelled and the professor relieved. More importantly, the rapid introduction of academic ethics at the president's level is needed. ACE BOWMAN Merced Lying is part of the curriculum What is all the fuss about the Stan State students giving false documents in their poll survey? Don't you know they grow up to be DAs and politicians? I have all the respect in the world for law enforcement, especially the uniforms on the street.
