California State University, Fullerton, will launch two new degree programs, in computer and software engineering, this summer, officials said Tuesday.

The software engineering program will be the university's second online graduate program and is geared for working professionals.

The computer engineering program will be offered as a bachelor's degree. It's designed to meet demands from local high-tech companies.

"We are responding to the needs of students, local technology companies and to professionals in the field seeking computer or software engineering degrees," said Raman Unnikrishnan, dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science.
