Orange County Register 4-22-04 CSF profs asked to allow walkout |
|
| The student government at California State University, Fullerton, has politely asked professors to give their students time off next week to stage a walkout. Associated Students Inc. sent a letter to faculty members, asking them to end their classes by 11:45 a.m. April 29 - or move their classes to the quad - so the students can participate in "a walkout and rally" to protest state budget cuts that have cut enrollment and sharply hiked student fees in the CSU system. "We realize this may disrupt lecture plans, tests and quizzes; however,
we are restricted by administrative guide lines regarding usage of the
quad and the President's noise abatement policy," the letter reads. |
