Someone who de-emphasizes technology and communicates to the external community. We do more than computers here. -- James Brent, professor, past chair, Academic Senate Someone who has the same ideals we do about shared governance, so students are listened to and asked their opinions about the big decisions. -- Rachel Greathouse, student government leader A president who understands that diversity is not just ethnic diversity but diversity in age, background and culture. -- Arash Shokouh, president, selection advisory committee Someone who is very effective at finding out what's going on in the trenches, so he or she can use all the best of our resources and link them with the community. -- David Conrath, dean, College of Business I want someone who can see the value and importance of the alumni and will help the alumni association develop programs that will bring them back to campus. -- Wanda Hendrix-Talley, president, alumni association Someone who understands the bridging between town and gown. Someone who has the ability to be inclusive yet decisive. -- Phil Boyce, a member of president's advisory council I'd hope the next president really addresses the students' needs and what's going on among the student body. -- Scott Myers-Lipton, sociology professor |
