San Diego Union-Tribune 6-5-03 University offers new scholarships |

| SAN MARCOS – A series of $13,000 scholarships will be awarded to incoming California State University San Marcos students. Called the Presidential Scholars Program, it covers $13,000 in fees, books and living expenses. To quality, incoming freshmen must have either a 3.75 grade point average from a California high school or be in the top 5 percent of their class. Transfer students are also eligible. In exchange, scholarship winners will be asked to serve in university outreach efforts to local schools, community groups and university planning committees. Applications are due June 23.
