| California State University, Channel Islands, has received a $150,000 grant to start a regional Child Abuse Training and Technical Assistance Center that will serve 10 Southern California counties. The center will train professionals who work in child-abuse prevention, intervention and treatment and assist child-abuse prevention councils and multidisciplinary interview teams to address family violence issues. The grant was awarded by the Governor's Office of Criminal Justice Planning and represents the first year of multiyear funding. The center, at CSU Channel Islands, is a partnership with Sonoma State University, which provides similar services for the 48 Northern California counties. For more information, visit the center's Web site at www.cattacenter.org or call Sonia Sandoval Edinger, Project Coordinator, (805) 383-6273.
