CSU Super Sunday services took place at 22 churches throughout Northern California. The weekend's Super Sunday built on the 31 events held at churches throughout Northern and Southern California on Feb. 14.
In Sacramento, CSU Chancellor Charles B. Reed spoke to hundreds of Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church parents, students and congregants with the message to begin planning for college admission as early as middle school, and to enroll in challenging classes that prepare for college.
CSU Super Sunday is the annual kick-off to the university's African American Initiative and church partnerships. Now in its fifth year, the CSU has expanded Super Sunday outreach to 100 California churches over several consecutive Sundays.

This year Cal State Los Angeles President James M. Rosser and Cal State East Bay President Mohammad H. Qayoumi took time to reflect on the importance of programs like Super Sunday in the CSU Voices and Views blog. President Rosser’s "Super Sunday and a parable of success," shares the story of a Cal State L.A. alumnus who went on to become the chief financial officer and corporate president of Boeing, the world’s largest aerospace company. President Qayoumi wrote about the university’s commitment to diversity and his own educational journey as a first generation college student in "Our Commitment to the Dreams of Students." The blog also features photos from Southern California and Northern California events.
