Cal State Fullerton athletic trainer Julie Max recently was elected the first female president of the National Athletic Trainers Association

The former NATA vice president has served for six years on the board of directors of the 25,000-member organization. The CSUF alumna (B.S. physical education '78) joined the staff in 1979 and was named head trainer in 1992. She begins her two-year term in June.
