Peru Rolls Out Red Carpet For CSU Students On Golden Bear Cruise In South America

Students from CSU Monterey Bay, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and California Maritime Academy were greeted with a warm welcome and much hospitality recently when the ship pulled in to Callao, the port city of Lima, Peru, as part of the Golden Bear's two month tour of South America. A contingent of officers and midshipmen from the naval academy of Peru were on hand to greet the ship. Hundreds of CSU students are learning of the cultures and economies of the countries visited on this educational exchange. Tours included the Naval and Maritime Museum, the City of Lima, the Inca Gold Museum, and the Pachacamac ruins. As part of it diplomatic responsibility for the visit, the embassy hosted a reception on the training ship which was attended by many high ranking military and civilian Peru government employees, as well as embassy staff and university officials from Peru.
