A national award that recognizes excellence in service has been presented to Cal State Fullerton's student chapter of the International Association of Students in Economics and Business Management (AIESEC).
AIESEC United States honored the 25-member organization with the "Outstanding Customer Service Award."
"The award for excellence in customer service goes to a local office that has exemplified professionalism and excellent communication," said Anu Karwa, vice president of AIESEC United States. "AIESEC Fullerton is a student organization that runs like a local business down to the T. It has shown what ongoing support and rapid communication turnover can result in. Its customers always comment on the rapid-fire responses and professional attitude."
AIESEC is a non-profit, student-run international exchange organization that gives students an opportunity to work abroad in any of 85 countries. The organization facilitates international exchanges of thousands of students and recent graduates each year, in an effort to contribute to international understanding and cooperation.
Cal State Fullerton's AIESEC chapter was established 15 years ago. During that time, nearly 50 CSUF students have participated in internships in such countries as Argentina, Turkey and Russia. Students have worked at Siemens in Germany, the U.S. Consulate in Mexico and Migros in Switzerland. This year's chapter has helped students from Poland and New Zealand find positions at American companies, hosted a regional conference and formed a partnership with Dale Carnegie & Associates.
