CSUCI Offers Two New Programs CSUCI Launches MBA ProgramCalifornia State University Channel Islands will launch an MBA program-the first of its kind offered by a comprehensive, four-year public university in Ventura County-in the fall semester of 2004. The MBA program has been specifically designed for working professionals in Southern California, featuring evening classes delivered in 12-week modules rather than the standard two semesters. Using an innovative and integrative approach to management education, the program meets the new learning standards required for accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. CSUCI's MBA will develop business leaders capable of working in an increasingly global environment. "Ultimately, the goal of the program is to make a difference in the lives of students and contribute to the economic vitality of the region," says Ashish Vaidya, CSUCI professor of economics and MBA program director. Another distinctive feature of the MBA program is its founding Business Advisory Council, comprised of leading businesspeople throughout the county who will serve as a major resource for the program and its students.
