Presentation honors Duncan's achievement as National Athlete of
the Year
Former Cal State L.A. women’s track and field star Nicole Duncan
will be honored this coming Tuesday, August 27, at the Los Angeles County
Board of Supervisors weekly meeting.
The presentation—recognizing Duncan’s achievement as the
winner of the 2002 Honda Award presented to the Nation’s Top Female
Athlete in NCAA Division II—will be made by CSULA alumnus and
Fifth District Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich. Duncan was named the
Honda Award winner earlier this summer at the Honda Awards banquet in
Dallas.
The special presentations segment of the Board of Supervisors meeting
generally begins at 9:45 a.m. and lasts no more than one hour. The meeting
takes place in room 381B of the Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration
Building, located at 500 West Temple Street in downtown Los Angeles.
Duncan concluded her collegiate career as the most decorated track and
field athlete in Cal State L.A. history with a total of eight NCAA individual
titles and 14 All-American awards in her three seasons as a Golden Eagle.
