Reading from a nominating letter, Deborah Roberson-Simms, director of Human Resource Management, described Libby Kent as "committed to quality work and service...[Libby] possesses the ideal set of people, communication and professional skills...is courteous and concerned with helping others, often taking extra time to go the extra mile to explain procedures in an understandable manner."
Kent has worked for Cal State L.A. for more than 20 years. She demonstrates her extraordinary school spirit by attending Cal State L.A. basketball, tennis and volleyball games both at home and away.
Kent is also an active volunteer for YMCA Kids Day Camp, visits convalescent homes, serves in many capacities within her church, and is a motivational speaker for dialysis and transplant patients.
In addition to recognizing the outstanding staff awardees at the annual event, the University community gathered together to honor those employees with 30, 25, 20, 15, and 10 years of service to Cal State L.A.
