Cal Poly Pomona And Mt. SAC To Enter Partnership
Agreement To Encourage Academic Success And Increase Transfers
Being on adjacent land parcels, Cal Poly Pomona and Mt. San Antonio
College have always been neighbors, and have long been partners in education.
This April, the two institutions will enter a new partnership agreement
intended to increase transfers from Mt. SAC to Cal Poly Pomona and encourage
academic success.
Cal Poly Pomona President Bob H. Suzuki and Mt. SAC President Bill Feddersen
will formalize the alliance during a signing ceremony 11 a.m. on Monday,
April 2, at Mt. SACs Student Services Center.
This is an ideal relationship for both institutions, Suzuki
said. Cal Poly Pomona and Mt. SAC are here to provide quality
education for the local communities. By creating this partnership, we
hope to encourage students to continue their academic endeavors.
The close proximity of the two campuses and shared mission of higher
education encourage collaboration. By working together, the two institutions
hope to create increased efficiency in seamlessly transferring students
from Mt. SAC to Cal Poly Pomona. They will also explore additional partnerships
in curriculum, programs, facilities and staffing.
Cal Poly Pomona and Mt. SAC have a history of cooperation in such areas
as agricultural sciences, health sciences, theatre arts, student housing
accommodations and cooperative library privileges.
We have a number of partnerships with Cal Poly Pomona, and wed
like to formalize and expand them, Feddersen said.
