Another Cal Poly Professor Selected for Statewide Leadership Program

Sema E. Alptekin, professor and chair of Cal Poly's Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Department, is the second university faculty member to be selected by Leadership California for its Annual Issues Program (AIP) 2001.

Alptekin -- along with Cal Poly Marketing Professor Teresa A. Swartz -- and approximately 50 other women leaders from across the state were chosen for the program.

Leadership California is a non-partisan, non-profit statewide organization founded in 1990. It is dedicated to the advancement of women leaders in public, private and non-profit enterprises throughout California.

This is the 10th year that the AIP is offering the yearlong program, which inludes four sessions.
