Janet Redding, vice president for advancement at San Josť State University, has been named to a national advisory group to represent the needs of the higher education marketplace.
The 13-member committee - composed of educators from throughout the United States - will advise the Bernard C. Harris Publishing Co., of White Plains, N.Y., one of the nation's leaders in offering information and Internet assistance to educational institutions and organizations.
The company publishes 700 large directories every year and is currently printing SJSU's 2001 alumni directory, which will contain information about many of the university's 150,000-plus alumni.
Redding heads SJSU's advancement division, which includes the university's fund-raising, alumni relations, governmental affairs and communications activities.
