CSUB Seeks to Assist Family Owned Businesses

The Family Business Institute has been established at California State University, Bakersfield. The institute seeks to be a resource to family owned businesses and service professionals in Kern County, providing information, research, and technical assistance aimed at assisting family owned businesses. The institute will host topical workshops and a conference, as well as informal forums and workshops.

Membership dues are $200 for family businesses up to 10 employees and $400 for businesses with more than 10 employees. Dues are $500 for service professionals employing up to five, and $1,000 for those employing more than five. Checks should be made payable to Family Business Institute, CSUB.

The executive advisory council includes Louis Barbich, Ken Carter, Dave Champness, Tom Champness, Phil Icardo, Claude Kimball, Ginger Moorhouse, Michael Olague, John Pryor, Kevin Small, Tom See, and Gaylen Young. CSUB faculty participants include Michael Bedell, Mary Doucet, Dennis Guseman, David Olson, and Donavan Ropp.
