CSU Stanislaus receives $500,000 gift for student scholarships

California State University, Stanislaus received a $500,000 gift for student scholarships from an anonymous donor who resides in Turlock on Tuesday, October 30. The generous donation results from a proposal that the president of the University, Dr. Ham Shirvani, had been working on with the donor for several months.

Shirvani said, “We have great appreciation for the generosity this donor has shown to California State University, Stanislaus. Many more students will have the opportunity to pursue higher education and earn a college degree as a result of this significant gift."

Shirvani continued, “We are so grateful to members of the Turlock community for the support they have shown to CSU Stanislaus. Because of the kindness and generosity of donors like this, we are able to support programs, services, and scholarships that help take the University to the next level of excellence.

“The fact that this donor wants to remain anonymous is a reflection of the donor’s humility and altruistic support for the University. I am humbled by such selfless generosity. Private support is becoming more and more important to public institutions of higher education, and it is an honor to work with donors who recognize the value in providing financial support to public universities,” Shirvani concluded.
