CSSA Elects Jennifer Reimer of Fresno State as Chair
California State Student Association (CSSA) Board of Directors has elected a new Chair
of the Board of Directors at the monthly conference held on Oct. 14-16 hosted by the
Associated Students at Humboldt State University.
Jennifer Reimer is from Fresno State and prior to being elected served as Vice Chair of
Internal Affairs for CSSA and accepted the challenge as Chair for the 2005-2006 year. "I am
looking forward to my role as Chair of the California State Student Association (CSSA).
The CSSA Board of Directors is working to improve its role as advocates for CSU students'
and will be focusing on three main issues: rising cost textbook prices, increase availability
of financial aid, and increase the number of students registering to vote. I will make
every effort to facilitate the needs of the Board as it works toward its goals," said
Reimer.
Due to Reimer's dedication and leadership ability, her roll as a student leader at Fresno
State has flourished. She is the Associated Student President for the 2005-2006 academic
year and has held various past positions in Associated students; such as, Senator for the
College for Arts and Humanities, and Vice President of Finance.
In addition to her activities with the Associated Students, she is a member of Chicano's
in Law organization (CIL) and West Coast Clarinet Congress Ensemble. She is also an alumna
of Alpha Xi Delta Women's Fraternity, where she held several positions, including Programs
Vice President, Ritual Chair, Chaplin and Recording Secretary. Reimer's major is in Music
Performance and Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance.
