The July issue of Black Issues in Higher Education special edition, “Top 100 Graduate and Professional Degree Producers 2004,” published this ranking, which focuses on the top 100 institutions that conferred graduate degrees during the 2002-2003 academic year.

Also listed in the discipline categories, Cal State L.A. was among the top ten in awarding master’s degrees in Education to minority, Hispanic and Asian American students, and is the top-ranking public institution in California awarding master’s degrees in all disciplines combined to Hispanic students.

Additionally, Cal State L.A. ranked #4 in awarding master’s degrees in Area, Ethnic, Cultural and Gender Studies to Hispanic students, #14 in awarding master’s degrees in Physical Sciences to minority students, and #14 in awarding master’s degrees in English Language and Literature/Letters to minority students.
