Creating innovative e-learning environments that enhance student learning

Frank Vuotto, liaison to the Orfalea College of Business and the College of Agriculture's Agribusiness Department at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, had a vision to create and implement value-added curriculum-driven digital learning environments. The result: the Business Research Portal, a centralized knowledge bank of authoritative business resources and original instructional content. The portal, which according to Frank, he "developed and lovingly raised," offers a wide range of interactive iLearning environments (videos, Flash tutorials, podcasts, online quizzes) that enhance the educational experience, engage students and faculty, and support lifelong learning skills. Frank's areas of specialization include competitive intelligence, marketing research, international trade data, and instructional design/instructional technology, among others. He has shared his knowledge and expertise at top library and information related conferences such as MERLOT International Conference, Internet Librarian and Computers in Libraries.
