Ross LaBaugh
Pioneer, creative thinker, stellar teacher
Ross T. LaBaugh, long-time coordinator of Library Instruction at CSU Fresno, is a trailblazer. In 2001, realizing the potential uses of multimedia in instruction, he developed InfoRadio, a series of radio features promoting information literacy and libraries. In 2002, he received the Association of College and Research Libraries' (ACRL) Innovation in Instruction Award for that project. That same year, Ross was awarded the Provost's Teacher of the Year award, the first librarian ever given this distinction in the CSU.
Ross has been granted a leave of absence for the 2007-08 academic year to pursue a temporary post as Coordinator of the Learning Enrichment Center at Zayed University in Dubai, U.A.E.
Currently, Ross is pursing two areas of interest: the re-visioning of reference using a therapeutic/counseling model, and collaborative integration of student academic support services and library literacy instruction.
