CSU Interlibrary Lending Task Force
The purpose of the Lending Task Force is to develop and investigate methods to improve
interlibrary loan and document delivery services.
Recommendations
- Identify and recommend ILL procedures that will enhance resource sharing
among CSU campuses.
- Develop guidelines for use of FAX, Ariel, packing and shipping (Tricor) in
order to align general ILL procedures among the CSU ILL Departments.
- Develop lost book policy and address replacement fees recommendation to forward to COLD for action.
- Establish policy for handling RUSH requests and responding to resends in a
timely manner.
- Establish policy for lending Audio-Visual (A-V) material in compliance with
American Library Association (ALA) except with local lending library policy that
prohibits compliance.
- Establish guidelines for packaging and shipping to Distance Education patrons.
Activities
Membership
To foster greater collaboration among CSU ILL staff, a minimum of three volunteers
will be required from the CSU Interlibrary Loan Departments, with one liaison from the
ILL Steering Committee. Each task force member must also have respect for the different
CSU campus missions, cultures, and needs; each member should be flexible, adaptable, and
willing to take risks.
